Website Report: Bill Cox is keeping the website updated. He recommended each member check the MGAA members only area. Google also finds the site and meeting info. Glass forum is available and there are pages for ads as well as member information. He has included pre-& post meeting notes. All is archivable for future reference.

Events: The Waikamoi Hikes: The first hike was a tremendous success and another is scheduled for July 20th. Departure from Pukalani Ace Hardware at 8:30 AM and carpool to the park. Return is between 1 & 2 PM. The guide is from the Nature Conservancy and it is a moderately difficult 2.5 miles.

Lanai Exhibition is scheduled for fall; October/November. No definite date, new management for the Four Seasons Resort Lance from the Lanai Art Center will help coordinate with the new management.

“Out of the Kiln” Joint Exhibition with the Maui Ceramic Artists will include glass, bronzes, ceramics, jewelry, etc. Possible location would be the Maui Mall which often hosts such events for non-profits. A committee is needed to help organize. Volunteers please contact Dennis or any board member.

Holiday Glass Benefit with “Camp Amua” of the Amua Family Services. The group is under reorganization but there is another possibility for a fall show before Thanksgiving.

The MGAA board has given formal OK to the Hui for a glass show in May/June of 2012: Theme: Glass in Paradise II.

Visualizing Green Show at the Hui. Check their website and Dennis’ last memo.

Tom Calhoun wants to collaborate with a glass artist who does casting for a major piece. Check with Dennis or the website.

Maui Open Studio sign up has begun. Deadline for discounts is August 1st. If MGAA artists wish to participate in a full page ad, contact Dennis.
Other Business: The Hui wants another “Donate a Holiday Ornament” for a fundraiser. MG AA would like to sponsor a whole tree with glass ornaments from our membership only. Marci @ Hui will be contacted and we should have details by next meeting.

The Shops at Ma’alaea for Maui Artists is still an active site. Randee checked it out and although the signage is very poor, the space is nice with a good number of artists/booths. Business is definitely best during whale season.

Next meeting September 8th, site to be announced and following that, November 10th.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:50 PM. A tour of Dave Musgrove’s studio followed.
